海外から注目を集める「訪れるべき場所」としての日本。迎え入れる側の私たちは、今の日本のアイデンティティを表現しなければなりません。 当社は夜の庭での過ごし方について可能性を広げてきた経緯から、「日本の夜の魅力」を世界へ伝えていく必要性を強く感じていました。

建築をはじめ空間デザインにおける和の表現は日々進化し洗練を極めている一方で、和の屋外照明は伝統的な行灯か、 それをモチーフにした器具しか存在していませんでした。『yomosugara』は現代におけるモダンな和の空間での使用を念頭に、 かつての和風照明のイメージにとらわれることなく、和の照明の概念を再定義します。

『yomosugara』は、日本の原風景や日本人の自然に対する考え方にフォーカスすることで生み出されました。 私たちの考える日本らしい灯りは、夕暮れから夜にうつりかわる薄暮の時間の薄明りや、夜の川に映る月明りといった、 日本人が古くから親しんできた自然と共にある灯りです。海外の装飾的で主張の強い照明とは異なり、 自然に寄り添ったデザインは日本的な心安らぐ夜の灯りとして、やわらかな和の空気を醸し出します。

Japan is attracting attention from abroad as a 'place to visit'. As a welcoming country, we have to express the identity of Japan today. We have expanded the possibilities for how to spend the night in our gardens. In this context, we strongly felt the need to convey the 'charm of the Japanese night' to the rest of the world.

While Japanese expressions in architecture and other spatial designs are evolving and becoming more sophisticated day by day, the only Japanese-style outdoor lighting available was traditional andon (lanterns) or fixtures based on them. “yomosugara” redefines the concept of Japanese lighting without being bound by the image of traditional Japanese lighting, with a view to its use in modern Japanese spaces in the modern age.

“yomosugara” was created by focusing on the original Japanese landscape and the Japanese way of thinking about nature. Our idea of Japanese-style lighting is the light that exists together with nature, which the Japanese have long been familiar with, such as the twilight at dusk and the moonlight reflected on the river at night. Unlike decorative, assertive lighting from overseas, the design of these lights, which are in harmony with nature, creates a soft, Japanese mood as a soothing night light.

端正な菖蒲の凛とした姿をモチーフにした間接光の灯具「Shobu」。 細身でシャープな造形は静かに佇み、しなやかな光を放ちます。 アプローチの足元を灯す２灯型と、空間に奥行きをもたらす３灯型をラインアップします。

The ‘Shobu’ is an indirect light based on the dignified figure of a delicate Japanese iris. It has a slim and sharp design that quietly stands still and glows with a supple light. The line-up includes a double-light type for lighting the floor on the approach and a triple-light type that adds depth to the space.

水面に睡蓮の葉が浮かぶ しん とした静寂な風景を表現する「Suiren」。 クリアな層に覆われたデザインは澄んだ水に包まれた潤いのあるイメージを醸し出します。 高さと大きさの異なる3つの灯具を配灯することで、自然なレイアウトを可能にします。

The ‘Suiren’ design expresses quiet and tranquil scenes of leaves of water lilies floating on the surface of the water. Its design of clear layers of light gives a soothing impression of clear water. It can be arranged in a natural setting by placing three types of fixtures in different heights and sizes.

樹木に宿る精霊をその名に冠した「Kodama」。有機的なフォルムと、クリアな膜に覆われた光を特徴とし、 自然に寄り添うあかりを灯します。ふたつの灯具を備えたパスライトは、それぞれの高さと向きを変えることができ、 連灯することでゆらぎのある景色を演出します。柔らかく大きな光で周囲を照らすフロアライトは一灯でも存在感を持ち、 安らぎのある空間をつくりだします。

The ‘Kodama’ is named for the spirits that dwell in the trees. It is characterised by a nature-like form and a light covered by a clear coating, which provides light in close touch with nature. The path light with two lights, which can be turned in different heights and directions, can be lit in tandem to create a wavering scene. The floor light, which gives a soft, large light to the surroundings, has a strong presence even as a single light and creates a restful space.

'yomosugara' have been jointly produced by TAKASHO DIGITEC Co,. Ltd. a specialist outdoor lighting manufacturer, and TANGENT, a world-renowned design engineering studio.

海外リリースに先駆け、日本で先行発表。 5月24日（金）〜25日（土）に東京kudan houseで開催されるCraft x Tech Tohoku Project 2024 Exhibition内にて yomosugara の初披露展示会を同時開催。 こちらでは yomosugara の3シリーズ7アイテムを発表しました。
